Year-Round Course Summary
Students gain a mastery of integers and integer operations. Students learn to solve challenging ratio and proportion problems. Students are introduced to variables and solving equations using multiple methods.
Course Requirements
Prior to joining this course, students should be able to:
- Fluently multiply and divide whole numbers
- Add, subtract multiply and divide fractions and decimals
- Compute the area and perimeter for triangle and rectangles
Course Content (Units are 4-6 weeks)
Unit 1 - Arithmetic with integers
Unit 2 - Positive and negative exponents
Unit 3 - Ratios, proportions, percentages
Unit 4 - Order of operations with integers and exponents
Unit 5 - Writing, evaluating, and solving equations
Unit 6 - Converting patterns into equations and graphs
Unit 7 - Basic probability and statistics
Unit 8 - In-depth understand of alternate bases
